On Thursday, February 25, 2016 it was made public that more than 200 Shore Medical Center patients received letters, indicating that they may have been exposed to HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, between June 1, 2013 and September 17, 2014.

On Friday, February 26, 2016, GMS Law filed a putative class action on behalf of its clients against Shore Medical Center and its former employee, Frederick McLeish.  This class action comes on the heels of notices sent out by Shore Medical Center on February 16, 2016.   The Complaint, filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey by GMS Law attorneys Michael Mackler and Mark Pfeffer, alleges claims of negligence and violation of the Pure Food and Drug Act on behalf of all those who may have been exposed.  GMS Law is currently investigating the full scope of those who may have been exposed and whether there was any delay by Shore Medical Center in notifying affected patients.
