Certified by the Supreme Court of NJ as a Matrimonial Law Attorney.
Family Law, Mediation and Commercial Litigation.
After receiving his undergraduate at Stockton University in 1987, Michael Gill later received his law degree from Rutgers Law School in 1990 and was admitted to practice in New Jersey the same year. In 2004, he was admitted and qualified to argue before the United States Supreme Court. Soon after obtaining his law degree, Gill returned to his alma mater, Stockton University, as an Adjunct Professor of Family Law where he taught a course on Family Law through 2010.
Since his start in law, Gill has served on numerous boards and committees. He has acted as an Officer and/or Trustee of the Atlantic County Bar Association from 1996-2005, was a member of the District I Fee Arbitration Committee from 1997-2000, and was also a member of the Board of Directors Community Justice Institute of Atlantic County from 1999-2004. From 2004-2005, he was the President of the Atlantic County Bar Association—a prestigious title in itself. Since then, he was a New Jersey State Family Law Executive Committee Member from 2008-2009 as well as a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey District I Ethics Committee from 2011-2015.
But it doesn’t stop there. Currently, Gill has been part of the Board of Directors for South Jersey Legal Services since 2004, a member of the Board of Directors for the African American Heritage Museum of South Jersey since 2011, and has been on the Robert McAllister Professionalism Committee since 2013. He is also still a current member of the New Jersey State Bar Association/Family Section, a member of the American Bar Association/Family Section, and a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist for Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
All of his hard work paid off when he began receiving some recognition. On March 23, 2004, Gill was the recipient of the Legal Services of New Jersey Equal Justice Medal and was selected as the Atlantic County Professional Lawyer of the Year in 2010. In October 2015, he also received the New Jersey State Bar Association 2015 Pro Bono Award. Most recently, Gill was selected by New Jersey Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” for the 11th straight year since 2005. He has even had numerous articles published, including one in The Rutgers Law Journal (Volume 21, number 2), which has been cited and quoted by three State Supreme Courts (New Jersey, Michigan, and Wyoming).
