After completing his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974, Joseph Sayegh went on to earn his law degree in 1977 from Temple University.
Since his start at GMS, Mr. Sayegh has been a member of numerous associations and committees. He was the President of the Atlantic County Bar Association from 1988-1989 and has served on the NJ District I Ethics Committee. He also has served on the Judicial Selections and Appointments Committee. He is the longstanding co-chairman of the Civil Arbitration Committee for Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
While a Senior Partner at GMS, Mr. Sayegh also served as President of the Margate Board of Education and is Prosecutor in the City of Margate, having served in that capacity since 1983. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the State Bar Association, and the County Bar Association where he serves as chair of the Civil Arbitration Committee. He was a co-founder of the Municipal Prosecutors Association of Atlantic County and served as President of that organization.
Mr. Sayegh began receiving recognition for his hard work early on in his career. In 1985, he was the recipient of the Honorable Benjamin Rimm Award for Outstanding Young Lawyer. From 2011-present, he has been listed in the National Trial Lawyers’ “Top 100 Trial Lawyers”. Additionally, Mr. Sayegh is listed as a New Jersey “Super Lawyer” from 2009-present. In 2014, he received a lifetime achievement award: The Robert McAllister Award. In 2015, he received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award. He was named by New Jersey Monthly Magazine as a Top Attorney since 2009 to the present, and has achieved a 10.0 “Superb” rating on AVVO.
Mr. Sayegh is married and he and his wife have one son. His outside interests include playing bass guitar in his band.
