You should get witness names and contact information, which may be important later. A witness who you cannot contact is not a witness at all.

But in a fall at a store, for example, people often feel embarrassed and do not report the incident, meaning there’s no record that it even happened! Always report your fall to the store manager when it happens, to ensure there is a record.
Doctors know that many injuries that seem minor can turn out to be serious. It’s a good idea to get checked out, just to be sure. When you see your doctor, provide an accurate account of how you were hurt and where it happened. That information is critical both for your doctor and for any future legal case.
